MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Life presents us endless opportunities to make new milestones, and gifts us with the will to go further. Filipinos personify this same fighting spirit that our valiant national athletes also embody.
In its latest campaign with Propel Manila, #PRsGoFurther, Philippine Airlines takes pride in showing that Filipino athletes and sports enthusiasts alike are all part of Team Philippines and have a shared journey in going beyond.
With the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games coming up, many believe that showing support for our national athletes is solely about celebrating their chance at winning. But the strength of one person stems from a whole nation cheering them on. As the flag carrier of the country, Philippine Airlines understands the significance of going the extra mile, especially for our Olympians and Paralympians representing the Philippines at this year’s Games.
Celebrating their best performances, “PRs” or “Personal Records” for athletes are typically represented by numbers, while also representing the Philippine Airlines flight code. Together, #PRsGoFurther melds the athletes’ fighting spirit to keep going, and PAL’s mission to support our national athletes, travelers, and the Filipino people achieve their dreams, one “PR” at a time.
On June 19, 2024, Philippine Airlines held an exclusive send-off dinner at the Century Park Hotel in partnership with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). PAL’s partnership with PSC is the start of many more initiatives to come, with PAL’s dedication to support the country’s top athletes. In the event, PAL gave each official Olympian and Paralympian personalized pilot’s pins and Mabuhay Miles, with additional miles to be awarded for further achievements during the competition.
The celebration was led by Philippine Airlines OIC, Executive Vice President, and General Counsel Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez, and Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Richard Bachmann, who were joined by six Olympians, six Paralympians, athlete representatives, PAL executives and employees, and officials from the Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Paralympic Committee.
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and the 2024 Paralympics will be held from August 28 to September 08, 2024.
