MANILA – To celebrate the National Heroes Day, HERO Foundation, in partnership with Y&R Philippines, ran a blank print ad on The Philippine Star and Pilipino Star Ngayon.
You read that right. The foundation ran a blank print ad on these two major newspapers on Monday so readers can write their own #LetterforHeroes. “How do you go beyond the typical corporate thank you message? How do you make the greeting more heartfelt? Instead of writing our own thank you message, we left it blank,” said in a press statement released by Y&R Philippines.
People were encouraged to write their own thank you notes to our modern-day heroes and urged them to take their letters to the digital space by snapping a photo of their notes and uploading them on social media using the hashtag #LetterforHeroes.
Famous personalities, influencers, and celebrities like John Arcilla, Lourd de Veyra, Ramon Bautista, Kean Cipriano, and Jun Sabayton (who signed his letter using his own blood) joined the campaign.
According to the agency, this is a way to utilize HERO foundation’s small ad space on the newspaper by integrating it with online social platforms.
