NEW YORK, USA — What exactly is the metaverse — or metaverses — and what is our place in it? Is what we are seeing with NFTs today just the tip of the digital iceberg? Ask each member of The One Club for Creativity team, and you’re sure to get a different answer. But one thing that we’re all certain of is that the level of experimentation we’ve seen over the past year within our community of agencies, studios, brands, and individual creatives has been nothing less than astounding.

That’s why The One Show 2022 and the ADC 101st Annual Awards have made room in both award shows where those who have boldly ventured into these emerging worlds can show the world — and our judges — their creations.

THE ONE SHOW 2022

The One Show is all about big, innovative ideas, and where have we seen bigger innovation over the past year than in these digital realms?

You’ll find a place to enter your metaverse-related work across three of The One Show’s disciplines: Experiential & Immersive, Gaming, and Interactive, Online & Mobile — that last one also being where you can submit your NFT projects. In all cases, our judges are looking to see how you’ve integrated these new platforms and technologies with a brand.

ADC 101st ANNUAL AWARDS

Even in the metaverse, craft and beauty are at the heart of what ADC judges look for when deciding who will win a coveted Cube.

If you’ve been crafting your own corner of the metaverse, you’ll find categories to submit such work within the Experiential Design discipline, alongside virtual reality experiences. If you have been creating NFTs on behalf of a brand, our Interactive jury will want to see what you’ve been up to — there’s a section dedicated to NFTs within that discipline.

For designers who have been getting into the NFT game with their own artwork, you’re more than welcome to submit them in the Personal Projects section of the most appropriate discipline: Illustration, Motion/Film/Gaming Craft, Photography, Typography or Fashion Design. Personal projects have the lowest entry fees in the ADC Annual Awards, but alas, we don’t accept Ethereum as payment.

The metaverse is a strange, new world for so many of us, and NFTs are as puzzling as they are fascinating. We’re confident that those who go on to win a One Show Pencil or an ADC Cube in these disciplines will be the ones who help show us all the way.
