MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Keeping it light and still safe, designer AJ Dimarucot (Founder of Communication Design Association of the Philippines — CDAP) released a set of fun interpretations of iconic streetwear labels, turning them into “home wear” brands, reminding the youth to stay indoors, and maintain proper hygiene, while still looking fly.
Dimarucot takes the design elements of these brands to highlight other relevant key words: From ‘Champion’ to ‘Coronavirus’, ‘Vans off the Wall’ to ‘Virus off the Wall’, and so on. It’s a funny take on how, although the past few weeks have been a crazy, sort of other-wordly, experience everywhere, it’s slowly becoming our new normal (i.e.work from home, online classes, social distancing).
As the local, and even global, situation gets more and more serious, this project offers at least a little bit of comic relief to these turbulent times.
