MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Showbiz fans and entertainment aficionados better have their kumu accounts ready, because the one and only Alex Gonzaga is now a kumu ambassador. While much of the exciting details are still kept under wraps, it is confirmed that Alex will be having her own account and show, titled “Dear Alex”, which will begin livestreaming this June.

“I’m very, very happy to be part of a platform that all Filipinos love” says Alex, who is an active content-creator herself, on top of being a Kapamilya actress. Every content platform has their unique audiences, she explains, and to have the Kumunity as a new, unique set of viewers is an incredible honor. “I hope the Kumunity will be there to support me, and I would love to interact with all the people in kumu!”

Although this is the first official endorsement she has with kumu, Alex is no stranger to the Kumunity. As early as 2019, she has already been featured on kumu livestreams, making her one of the first local celebrities to leverage the platform. In November of that year, Alex had also used kumu livestreams as a means for charity; she raised a total of Php 100,000 for the Red Cross in their relief efforts for the Mindanao earthquake. She’s also featured kumu in some of her vlogs, including the memorable “CEO for a day” at kumu headquarters, and the hilarious “Cleaner for a day” prank with DJ Loonyo.

With her distinct wit and jokes, the Kumunity is now eager to see what surprises are in store for “Dear Alex”, the title of which is reminiscent of her 2014 book release. Alex assures, her kumu show and channel will have that same humorous, casual feel that viewers can relate to. She explains, “Itong “Dear Alex” [on kumu], they get to have a conversation with me, they get to ask questions, and iba-iba yung topic natin every week.”

Alex shares further, “So [“Dear Alex”] is like a podcast, na parang we get to expound on a topic, lalo na ngayon that I’m newly married, and you know, I’m also figuring out life.”, she laughs in earnest. “Kahit papano, you know, my audience can relate and learn from my experiences. And I could learn from them also, because they can also share their experiences.”

With that, the Kumunity is definitely eager to catch her on kumu soon. “Dear Alex” is scheduled to go live in June 2021, more details and exclusives will be revealed in the coming weeks.
