Manila’s finest creators and influencers gathered in the first Facebook for Creators Philippines workshop. 80 creators including the Guerrero siblings Ranz Kyle and Niana; inspirational guru, author, and lay preacher Bo Sanchez; actor-TV host Robi Domingo; and vlogger and Viva recording artist behind the hit song “Kakaibabe” Donnalyn Bartolome joined the event.
The workshop helped creators learn more about how they can grow their community with video, share best practices for managing their online presence, and new tools for monetization and engagement on Facebook.
“We want to ship love for creators and let them know that we want to help them build their audience on Facebook. We are proud to support the creator community by teaching them how to connect with their fans by using our engagement tools and also to enable them to build a business with us through ad breaks and other monetization tools,” said Anna Rodriguez-Dela Cruz, Facebook’s Strategic Partnerships Lead for Entertainment, Philippines and Singapore.
The energy was high and the atmosphere decidedly festive as some creators came in full character—Chino Liu channeled his alter ego Krissy, Prince De Guzman who does make-up transformations came as the scary clown Pennywise, and not to be outdone was Lady Gaga impersonator, Lady Gagita.
The Facebook for Creators workshop is part of a series launched in the APAC region that also recently brought together creators from Australia, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The workshops focus on supporting creators in building their community on Facebook with insights on how people are engaging with content across multiple surfaces, and demonstrating the tools available at their fingertips for engaging their audiences:
- Facebook Watch is the place for longer videos that fans seek out
- Facebook Stories is for quicker moments, while Live is for immediate and interactive videos
- Groups engage the most loyal fans who are hungry for more, and Instagram content can easily be extended to Facebook.
- Premieres helps create excitement over video content and exclusive posts just for the creators’ fan community.
- Facebook Creator Studio is a tool that helps creators understand and grow their community and ultimately tailor their content strategy.
- Creators were also shown how they can use ad breaks on the platform and support their business.
