MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the Philippines has greatly affected industries across the board, especially those whose income is earned on a daily basis. This is a realization that Lakihan Mo Logo, a group of artists and advertisers, had decided to act on by creating an online event for fundraising initiative “Aidvertising”, that will help ease the financial burden of these advertising production professionals.
According to the creators of Aidvertising, namely Caloy Soliongco, Tony Battung and Camille Aragona, most of these crew members earn a wage of about a thousand pesos a day on a “no work, no pay” basis, and that many have come to them asking for help. Aidvertising began with 140 beneficiaries, and their goal is to provide two thousand pesos for each one. An additional 100+ came to the group, however, so they’ve raised their goal to 500,000 pesos, which already takes account transaction fees. The group has so far been able to raise 211,938.20 pesos.
To further encourage people to donate, the group together with Lakihan Mo Logo has decided to create an online show, featuring jingles performed by artists within the group. The performance is scheduled on April 24, 2020, at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Soupstar Music’s Facebook Page. To join, here are the mechanics as sent by the group:
