Digital: New blog site ‘Branding Nerd’ aims to place spotlight on brilliant brands worldwide

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — A new blog site called Branding Nerd was launched last April 11 with the aim of “placing the spotlight on brilliant ideas that brands have executed anywhere in the world,” says Bingo Soriano, the resident ‘nerd’ behind the new site.

“I have always been fascinated by brands ever since my first job as a Marketing Management Trainee in Unilever back in 1987,” says Bingo. “Both in my corporate career as well as my current entrepreneurial involvements, working with brands is the common denominator.”

Aside from Unilever, Bingo held senior marketing, sales and management roles in Purefoods Corporation, HSBC Philippines, and Burger King Asia Pacific. Today, Bingo currently serves as Group CEO for International of Xiklab Group which is composed of three business units including Xiklab Digital (a leading digital marketing agency), Xiklab Axis (a digital marketing outsourcing hub), and Xiklab Ventures (a digital products business). He also founded and continues to operate BASC Consulting International Corporation which helps brands increase sales and profits through brand training & consulting, brand audit and brand coaching. He’s also involved in the point-of-purchase firm in-Store Media Philippines which is focused on both traditional and digital merchandising networks inside hypermarket and supermarkets.
