A Filipina is great at rallying other women together, and building a community that is uplifting and encouraging.
As part of the #LikeAFilipina campaign, a livehouse was held via TikTok Live last March 13, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The livestream featured female creators from the fields of entertainment, sports and fitness, music, business, and gaming, including Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray.
While she was live, Catriona answered questions from viewers, and talked about feminism, saying, “It means allowing them to lift up each other and to do whatever they want to do as long as it’s respectful and considerate of others, that’s what feminism is to me. It’s not about being better than men. It’s not about being radical. It’s just about having women’s rights as human rights and it being equal.”
Along with Catriona Gray, 5 other featured creators joined the #LikeAFilipina livehouse. Fitness coach Anne Aniag, demonstrated how to do a 40-minute full body workout during her livestream. Singer Zendee, who captivated the world with her vocal prowess, serenaded viewers. Steffi Santana, co-founder and CMO of Lola Nena’s, talked about being an empowered businesswoman, and how she continues to pursue greater heights for her business. Gamer Aya Ezmaria chatted with viewers while streaming a video game. Finally, entrepreneur Ayn Bernos, founder of Morena the Label, took time to answer questions during her livestream.
