MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Center for Research and Communication (CRC), pursuant to its accreditation as a highly-qualified, well-experienced, and trusted Institutional Privacy Trainer of the National Privacy Commission (NPC), will hold its online classes for the “Data Protection Officers Foundational and Certification Course” starting on January 15, 2022.
The DPO Foundational and Certification Course is a five-day interactive instructor-led training with course study materials prepared by subject matter experts, and is the first step to becoming a full-fledged Data Protection Officer (DPO). It is also being positioned as a comprehensive industry-standard course for those appointed as Data Protection Officers of their respective organizations. The content is based on RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of the Philippines), GDPR (Global Data Protection Regulation of EU), and other best practices of Information Security Officers (ISOs).
By the end of the course, participants will be Certified Data Protection Officers by earning both a CRC and NPC DPO certificate if they both pass the CRC certification exam and the NPC Data Protection Officer Accountability, Compliance and Ethics (DPO ACE) Level-1 exam.
The NPC DPO ACE Program, in partnership with accredited Institutional Privacy Trainers, aims to establish a skills benchmark for DPO to address the high demand for adequate capacity-building mechanisms for aspiring privacy professionals in the Philippines. This partnership takes CRC and NPC closer toward their shared vision of building a “culture of data privacy” in the country.
