MANILA — The Internet Mobile and Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), the country’s premier digital marketing organization, will stage the second digital congress (DigiCon), the biggest gathering of marketing practitioners this year. Carrying the theme “DX: The Culture of Digital Transformation,” the event puts the spotlight on culture as a means to help Filipino marketers adapt in this era of digitization.

Apart from culture, DigiCon 2017 will also be focusing on the new age of storytelling, highlighting topics on virtual reality and immersive storytelling, among others.

For the past couple of years, the marketing world has been abuzz with brand storytelling. As new technologies allow audiences to consume and interact with content across a variety of mediums, marketers and story-makers are inclined more than ever to expand their narrative universes across multiple platforms.

“It’s a new age for telling stories and with it comes a new set of rules, a new critical vocabulary, as well as new models for doing business. Audiences are transitioning from simple consumers into dynamic participants in their media of choice,” shares DigiCon 2017 Chair Eduardo Mapa, Jr. “Under this track, DigiCon 2017 will have a series of panels, presentations, and special events that aim to help marketers harness the power of technology to create and share stories that strengthen the connection with their audiences.”

Participants will have the opportunity to listen to content provided by globally acknowledged opinion leaders, among them: Edward Pank, WARC APAC Managing Director.

As one of the pioneers of the advertising intelligence firm WARC in Asia-Pacific, Pank will talk about Effectiveness in Storytelling: Lessons from the World’s Best Campaigns. In his session, attendees will uncover the trends behind the creative, media, and measurement strategies of the world’s best brands.
