MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Creating video content on YouTube is a meaningful and surefire way for people to monetize their passions and interests. As YouTube supports the proliferation of substantial and watchable content on its platform, it has made important changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) to allow for earlier access.

As part of these updates, YouTube is expanding the YPP program with lower eligibility criteria to enable creators to start receiving support and monetization much earlier in their creation journey. Creators can sign up for this new YPP tier once they’ve reached a threshold of 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the last 90 days, either 3,000 watch hours in the past year or three million Shorts views in the last 90 days, and no active strikes and violations of the Community Guidelines.

These new partners will unlock access to fan funding features like channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and the ability to promote their own products with YouTube Shopping sooner.

These fan funding features give creators another way to grow their earnings while engaging with their audience. Creators around the world already use these features to provide exclusive content and benefits to fans through channel memberships or shouting out viewers who use Super Chat during their live streams.

As creators continue to grow their channel, you automatically become eligible to earn revenue sharing from ads and even more benefits once you reach the existing YPP eligibility criteria, without having to go through the full application process again. These existing eligibility requirements to unlock revenue sharing remain unchanged.
