MANILA, PHILIPPINES — As part of the Game On series, Rey Tiempo attended REV Major!, the Philippines’ premier fighting game event organized by Gariath Concepts. The event took place last September 17 to 18 at the SMX Convention Center and was attended by fighting game communities and patrons, joining the many different activities — from tournaments and battles to meet and greets with big names in the world of gaming.

As the host of the Philippine leg of the world tours of the biggest fighting tournaments — including the Tekken World Tour, the ArcSys World Tour for the games Guilty Gear Strive and DNF Duel, and The DragonBall FighterZ World Tour — REV Major was the center of the most epic battles in the fighting game community.
Aside from the world tours, REV Major hosted other tournaments for some fighting game favorites like Street Fighter V, Marvel vs Capcom 2, KOF XV, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Melty Blood Type Lumina, Grandblue Fantasy Versus, Soul Caliber VI, and Mortal Combat 11 Ultimate.
In addition to the tournaments, attendees were able to meet Nand greet international fighting game superstars, watch showcases joined by local fighting game icons, participate in fun activities at various sponsor and partner booths, and go back to the good old days of classic gaming with Retro REV.
Present at the event was Gariath Concepts CEO and REV Major founder Richard Brojan. Richard spoke about how the fighting game community is the easiest way to be introduced to and appreciate esports if one isn’t a gamer yet.
“[For those] who haven’t seen the fighting game community yet, please look at us. Look at the whole scene. You won’t be disappointed,” Richard said. “Attend the events [and you’ll find that it’s] the easiest way to recognize and to really appreciate [esports.]”
