PATTAYA, THAILAND — ADFEST is set to once again host the World Producers Summit at its 2024 Festival at Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand, from March 21 to 23.
This year, Steve Davies, Chief Executive of the Advertising Producers Association (APA) and Executive Vice President of the Commercial Film Producers of Europe (CFPE), will chair the summit at ADFEST. Eligibility has opened in past years. Previously, only an executive producer or producer from a production company or agency, with only one representative per company, was able to participate in the discussion. This year, every ADFEST delegate may participate in the discussion and share an Asian perspective.
The World Producers Summit brings the region’s top producers together to gain valuable insights, brainstorm possible solutions to common issues, and explore new ways of working. The Summit is being held at a pivotal time for production. The world of production has undergone significant change, both in how commercials are consumed and in how they are made. That change is ongoing.
Changes in viewing commercials have come from the evolving habits of consumers, driven by tech, with linear TV being a smaller part of the landscape. Consumers now see commercials on multiple screens, and advertisers follow those eyeballs. At the same time, tech is enabling new approaches to production, with virtual production and AI creating new opportunities. This affects everyone involved in the marketing industries, whether they are working in production companies, agencies, or brands commissioning commercials.
The World Producers Summit was created by the AICP, APA, and CFPE and also takes place in Cannes each year during Cannes Lions in June. Its purpose is to bring industry people together to gain valuable insights, brainstorm possible solutions to common issues, and explore new ways of working. It is a chance to get ahead with knowledge and be ready for the opportunities that change might bring.
The first World Producers Summit at ADFEST was held in 2012 as a forum for production company owners and stakeholders in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East to discuss specific issues they encounter as the industry evolves and globalizes and examines solutions to current and emerging business challenges. The World Producers Summit at ADFEST allows every ADFEST delegate to participate in that discussion and share an Asian perspective.
