Spikes Asia 2012: Philippine agencies take home 29 metals*

THE PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 18, 2012 (updated: SEPTEMBER 20, 2012) – Coming from 11 metals in 2011, the Philippines takes home its biggest metal haul in Spikes Asia history with 29 metals*: 7 Golds, 13 Silvers and 9 Bronzes*.
 
BBDO Guerrero takes the lead with 6 Golds, 7 Silvers and 2 Bronzes. Pepsico’s and MyShelter Foundation’s ‘Bottle Light’ emerged with 3 Golds in the Outdoor, Media and Direct categories while Bayer Philippines’ Saridon series, ‘Pound’, ‘Stamp’ and ‘Wash’ bagged the Gold in the Film category. BBDO Guerrero also secured the third place in Agency of the Year.
 
TBWA\SantiagoMangada Puno, in partnership with Revolver Studios, also acquired Gold and Silver with Energizer’s ‘ t of Life’ in the Film Craft category. Their ‘Project Edsa’ campaign for Pacific Paint Philippines won Silver in the Media category while Suyen Corporation’s ‘Kontrabida 101 (Bella, Still a Villain at 84)’ garnered Bronze in the Film category, which was done in partnership with Straight Shooters Media.
 
Ace Saatchi & Saatchi’s ‘Energy Playground’ for Kraft Philippines won 2 Bronzes* and 2 Silvers in Outdoor, Media, PR and Branded Content & Entertainment categories respectively. The agency’s talents Milton Ganelo and Ma Roxanne Agsalud won the Silver in the Young Spikes Integrated category, following Hong Kong but well ahead of South Korea. 
 
DDB DM9JaymeSyfu took the Silver award in the Direct category for its ‘Bury the Past’ campaign for Gabriela while McCann Worldgroup Philippines’ ‘The OFW Project’ for Coca-Cola won the Silver in the Digital category.
 
Y&R Philippines’ ‘Anti-Dengue Mosquito’ poster, which is scented with citronella, an essence that keeps mosquitoes at bay, was awarded Bronze in the Outdoor category.
 
The Radio category saw Lowe Philippines and Dentsu Philippines win Bronzes for ‘Loren Ipsum’ (Hit Productions) and ‘Man on Bike’ (Panasonic ).
 
*And keeping up with all the positivity was DDB Philippines’ ‘Pacquiao Positive’ for Pepsico’s Sting Energy Drink which won Bronze in the PR category.
 
Meanwhile, JWT Manila’s Javey Villanes and Maan Bautista bested other teams in the Agency Shootout competition for their Greenpeace pitch.
