MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The relentless power of creativity to move not only businesses and individuals but the whole world, especially in the context of today’s ever-changing creative landscape, comes into full focus at this year’s CreativeFest which will happen from November 24 to 26.

Organized by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As) Philippines, the theme of this year’s CreativeFest is “Creativity Unlocked.” The theme zeroes in on the power of creativity to drive people and the world we live in even amid the continuous disruption brought to our lives by the pandemic.

“Creativity is our superpower. It’s important that we unlock and use it as a force for good,” says JC Valenzuela, CEO of Propel Manila and 4As Philippines Committee Chairman for CreativeFest. “For this year’s CreativeFest, we are celebrating creativity by unlocking important and exciting discussions on how culture fuels creativity, how platform-challengers create stimuli for vital work, and how creativity can make the world a little better than before, among many other hot new topics from our distinguished speakers from all over the world.”

CreativeFest is the country’s biggest gathering of creative minds, local and global experts, and thought leaders from different industries across continents. It will be three days of back-to-back inspiring talks, extraordinary stories, masterclasses, idea-sparking roundtable discussions, and keynote speeches from a remarkable lineup of speakers — all coming together at an online festival. Just like last year, CreativeFest 2021 remains free for everyone. The event will also benefit Silid-Aralan, an organization that educates and empowers low-performing learners, and is committed to creating a better and more sustainable nation.

The event also highlights how creativity can persevere and unlock the best work among some of the country’s brightest creative minds. Aside from enlightening discussions and informative talks, this year’s CreativeFest will culminate with the much-anticipated return of the Kidlat Awards on November 26.

“Kidlat strikes again! After a year’s absence, the industry’s most prestigious awards show is back and this time we are going all-digital – from entering to judging to the streaming of the actual live show. This means more people can enjoy and experience both CreativeFest and the Kidlat Awards in the comforts and safety of their homes,” says Russ Molina, Chief Creative Officer of Seven A.D. and Kidlat Awards Committee Chair. “During this time, I think it is very important that we come together to celebrate not just creative excellence but also our capacity to strategize, ideate, create and produce work that makes us proud and makes us feel alive. The pandemic has limited much of our freedom but not our creativity.”

Submission of entries started last September 18 and will continue until October 18, 2021. Only entries made by Philippine-based agencies, production houses, media, PR, and design shops that have first aired, gone live, been posted online, or made available for public download between February 1, 2019 to February 28, 2021 are qualified for the 2021 Kidlat Awards.
