MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Production Design and Technical Services Division (PDTSD) will hold virtual workshops on technical theatre and design from August 3 to 21, 2021.
The workshops are open to all who are interested in design and technical theater, ages 21 to 35 years old, at least high school graduate. Those who want to join must fill up the registration form (https://bit.ly/WorkshopRegform). Their application must also include a list of their works and/or curriculum vitae.
They are encouraged to submit their design portfolio such as but not limited to photo or video documentation, sketches, renderings lay-outs, plots, souvenir program or playbill, newspaper clippings, reviews, and other related documents. Specific qualifications (for Set, Costume, Lights, and Sound Design classes) will be announced at a later date.
Registration period is until July 30, 2021
Distinguished design and technical theatre practitioners will facilitate the workshops – Zard Eguia for Scene Design; Tuxqs Rutaquio for Costume Design; Joseph Matheu for Lights Design; and TJ Ramos for Sound Design.
Conversations in Production Management, Stage Management, and Technical Direction complement the workshop.
Baha Vergara, Haps Constantino, and Loraine Macatangay will tackle Stage Management while Pat Gascon, Allie Eguia, and Soc Amon, discuss nuances in Production Management. To share shop techniques, Renz Sevilla, D Cortezano, and Roldan Lozano will delve into Technical Direction.
Noted Designers who have made a name in the international scene, Faust Peneyra and Loy Arcenas will share their expertise in ExperTalks with would-be designers and technical theater wanna-bes.
