MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Kumu is ready to elevate the pageant experience once again by getting together with Binibining Pilipinas (BBP) for the most interactive pageant experience yet.
Since it was launched in 1964, the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant has become one of the country’s biggest and most anticipated beauty competitions, with hundreds of young Filipina aspirants dreaming to represent the finest of Filipina beauty — those with innate poise, grace, and intelligence. As part of the overall competition, the Binibining Pilipinas primer will be held as a training ground for aspiring queens in preparation for coronation night.
This year, the BBP primer will get a significant level-up from previous years — with many more exciting challenges and interviews to be aired exclusively on the kumu app. Kumunizens part of the pageant community can now experience the BBP 2022 primer LIVE for the first time on July 25 at 6:00 pm on the @bbpilipinas official kumu channel, with a special performance from the P-pop boy group VXON.
Now that the BBP primer will be done live via the kumu app, kumunizens will get exclusive backstage access to the pageantry experience and their favorite queens! Head of Binibining Pilipinas Gines Enriquez says, “This year, our goal is to have an upgrade in fan experience and engagement. Kumu is now an integral part of Binibini and we are happy that our plans and vision to reach more pageant fans on an international level has come to life.”
The live sessions will serve as a training ground to help the women prepare better as they replicate the actual pageant coronation night. The aspiring queens will be joined together with Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2020 Samantha Bernardo as their hosts and mentors. Kumunizens can expect to see raw and unedited performances from their bets, which include Q&A portions to test their composure and wit, and a special pasarela session to help them perfect their catwalks on the runway.
More than that, Creative Director of kumu social tv Wilenito Tormis Jr. said, “It will not just be a normal showcase of pasarela and Q&A, candidates will experience a queen to queen mentorship with former BBP queens Samantha Bernardo and Nicole Cordoves.”
Kumunizens can also interact with the candidates and hosts as the training session happens. This will also serve as a preview of the kumu lounge chatroom — a first in Philippine pageantry where fans and pageant experts can interact during the pageant via the kumu app live.
