MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Creatives can discover what is next in the video streaming market and enjoy a selection of regional short films in the fourth edition of CREATE Philippines on June 28-29. Presenting CREATIVE FUTURES, this year’s event will be a two-day online conference highlighting the current state of the creative economy and the future of the industry.
Get to know Kumu, a homegrown social media platform that is changing the way we socialize, shop, and earn in Asia, straight from Kumu’s Co-founder and Social TV Chief of Content, Angelo Mendez, and Vice President for Marketing, Vicky Herrera.
In a talk titled “KUMUsta, Pinas?,” Mendez and Herrera will share how homegrown live streaming and e-commerce social networking service KUMU has become a new home for content creators in the Philippines. They will also present ways on how content creators and creative individuals can leverage this platform to enhance audience experience through commercial, gaming, and work-related content.
“We are helping content creators have professional careers right from their homes and to be able to become financially successful in ways that are suited to their lifestyle. They have the freedom to select when, what, and where to stream,” said Mendez.
According to Mendez, Kumu is exploring new terrain in creativity with plenty of new ways to create content through various multimedia and concepts. In Kumu, Mendez also noted that the platform is focused on generating engagement and connection to help content creators build intimate and authentic relationships with their followers.
Kumu is a Philippine-based community platform where content creators and viewers can generate income through live streaming, playing live games, and participating in various promotions.
Mendez added that Kumu’s livestream partnership has helped innovate popular local entertainment shows, such as Pinoy Big Brother and Game Ka Na Ba?, from traditional television concepts to digital live streaming shows.
