MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In line with telecommunications giant Globe’s mission to reinvent their subscribers’ surfing experience, they partnered with SoundCloud to give music fans a unique, informative musical treat with the Behind The Sound music event which was streamed on Globe’s official Facebook page on May 27.

Globe’s partnership with online audio distribution platform and music-sharing website SoundCloud enables all music lovers and aspiring musicians to share their music, discover new artists and create playlists. The collaboration empowers the local music scene, and is aligned with Globe’s commitment to bring the best of music and audio content to their customers.

Front row seats to Behind The Sound

Behind The Sound was developed to inspire and guide budding artists as the event brought together industry experts to share stories of their musical journeys.

Ian Monsod, CEO of Kroma Entertainment Inc., spoke about the ins and outs of the business side of the music industry and how he turned his passion for music into a successful career.

Manila Killa, an LA-based Filipino EDM producer who co-founded the Moving Castle collective and as the music duo Hotel Garuda, shared how SoundCloud jumpstarted his musical journey in becoming an established artist in the hyper-digital world.

Some of the country’s most promising artists like CRWN, Keiko Necessario, and up-and-coming artist and Globe Virtual Hangouts GoJAM Winner, Jo3m, also performed their original tracks live on the stream.

Lucky streamers in attendance also won Behind The Sound kits–each kit included a Behind The Sound shirt, a sticker pack, a guitar pick, drumstick pens, and a personalized notecard.
