MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) recently launched its 2022 Youth Programs starting off with IMMAP Academy, a holistic digital marketing initiative that aims to train and certify university students with the digital foundations required for the modern workforce.
The learning program consists of instructor-led digital courses in partnership with Certified Digital Marketer (CDM) Philippines, self-paced learning modules, industry mentorship, and digital marketing competition. The teaching approach is composed of the following:
- Five Saturday Masterclasses, which are online certification courses that cover foundational knowledge on Digital Marketing Fundamentals, Social Media Marketing, Video Marketing, E-commerce Fundamental, and Digital Media and Creative Execution.
- Self-paced learning modules contributed by the biggest and most relevant platforms (Meta, Google, Shopee, Lazada, Twitter).
The five Saturday Masterclasses ran every Saturday from July 16 to August 13. Over 1,114 students from 45 schools across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao registered for the live online class.
The next set of activities includes the IMMAP Academy Competition, which will be the culminating activity of IMMAP Academy. The competition will bring together what students have learned from the masterclasses and IMMAP Academy modules. Participants will be given three weeks to create holistic campaigns for prestigious brands in the country using the knowledge and strategies they’ve gained. They will also be undergoing mentoring from IMMAP Academy mentors who are experts in digital marketing.
The competition proper will take place on October 11 during Digicon Valley 2022 week. The final announcement of the winners will be on October 14 during The Boomerang Awards. Participating students will also have a chance to access internship and job opportunities among participating IMMAP member companies.
Other upcoming activities are the Youth Conference and Digital Young Creative, which will also happen in October:
- This year, the Digital Youth Congress (YouthCon) will be taking a deep dive into the world of youth-founded start-ups to inspire future entrepreneurs. “Start-up Youth” is both the theme and call to action – to get more Filipino youths participating in a start-up economy that is transforming the way we live, work, and learn. YouthCon aims to uplift the youth to turn ideas into action through interactive rounds of feedback on their ideas and an opportunity to be recognized in the startup community.
- Digital Young Creative (DYC) competition is open to all young creatives aged 30 and below. The competing pairs are given a task to come up with a “digital-at-the core” communications and business solution to a case given to them. The teams are given 24 hours to craft their entry. The winning team in each country will then compete in the global arena through the Cannes Young Lions competition.
The IMMAP is looking forward to these youth-centered education programs that will empower the next-generation of digital marketers with the tools and expertise they need to conquer this ever-evolving landscape.
