MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On the heels of its recently concluded Cebu Wedding Masterclass, Sony Philippines is set to hold this year’s second workshop for hybrid wedding photographers and videographers, this time in Manila from August 26 to 27.
Aiming to energize Filipinos’ creative and freelancing skills across the industry, Sony is set to hold the next installment of its Wedding Masterclass, a free in-person workshop and simulated wedding shoot at The Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on August 26 and 27. Interested Sony and non-Sony users alike can reserve a slot by choosing their preferred date here.
Renowned wedding portrait and fashion photographer and Sony Alpha Professional Pilar Trigo Bonnin who was tapped to co-lead the Masterclass shared, “Compared to online workshops and even other wedding workshops, Sony’s Wedding Masterclass is definitely more intense since we are doing an actual live demonstration of a bridal shoot together with preparation and portraits of the groom.”
Ready to take audiences through her step-by-step process behind capturing the most picturesque portraits and shots, Pilar points to the bridal and groom portraits as a crucial area every aspiring wedding photographer needs to master because this is the period the photographer interacts most with the couple.
Joining Pilar and set to demonstrate his approach to beautiful wedding cinematography at the event, is highly acclaimed wedding videographer Jake Olasco.
“The secret to mastering your craft? Showing up,” said Jake, as he advised aspiring wedding cinematographers to attend live demos and workshops to further enhance their skills. For the Sony Guru and filmmaker, he revealed, “If you are interested in jumping from photography to videography or vice versa, Sony’s upcoming Masterclass is a must-attend! You will see how photo and video teams work together successfully. Oftentimes, these are not taught at any other workshops.”
Leading the way in hybrid wedding photography workshops
Sony Philippines Sr. Marketing Director Hideyuki Wada said, “To provide the best workshop experience we can and re-create the same shooting conditions photographers face during events as realistically as possible, we went all out with our Wedding Masterclass. These workshops are some of Sony’s largest productions of the year and feature some of the most sought-after professionals in the industry.”
“After witnessing the eagerness of the participants to learn during our recently concluded Cebu installment, which was led by photographers Jiggie Alejandrino and Kitty Bunag, together with cinematographer Sherard Yu, we knew we had to bring the Wedding Masterclass to more communities. Sony is very excited to welcome everyone to the next installment!” added Hideyuki.
Sony’s first Wedding Masterclass of the year, which featured an in-person workshop and simulated wedding shoot in Cebu City, was held at the BLOQ Residences Sikatuna last July 29 and 30.
