Talpa, a TV production unit who developed several programs including reality, daily and weekly infotainment magazines and games shows permitted the giant network to franchise the show. Its first format was ‘The Voice of Holland’ which was launched in Netherland. The program approved the taste of Filipino audience because aside from its musical component, it also highlights the artists’ backstories that Filipinos can relate to.

The Voice of the Philippines carries the tagline, ‘Pangarap ang Puhunan, Boses ang Labanan”. The program combined local artists to be the panel of judges and ‘coaches’. The coaches include Philippines’ biggest female ‘popstar’ Sarah Geronimo; Filipino rock superstar Bamboo; international hip hop sensation and member of Grammy-award winning hip hop group Black Eyed Peas Apl de Ap; and Tony-award winning Broadway star Lea Salonga. All of them showcased their talents greatly nationwide and abroad.

"The world knows that Filipinos are the best singers in the world so I think the country really deserves ‘The Voice of the Philippines.’ With the lineup of coaches that the show has, it’s going to be of international standards,” said Philibert Braat, international consultant for franchise owner Talpa.

The program continues to intensify as more artists compete in the ‘Battle Rounds’ for the coming weeks. It airs every Saturday and Sunday on Philippine television via ABS-CBN and across the world via ABS-CBN Global’s The Filipino Channel (TFC).
