MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Urban Farmers PH invites urban dwellers to indulge their senses in an enchanting evening of artisanal food and wine pairings in an exclusive event on Sunday, February 25, with sommelier Luca Galli. Amidst the lush surroundings of the BGC Community Farm, first time guests and patrons are in for an unforgettable experience of fine wine, pizza, freshly harvested herbs, and salad in the serene beauty of a sunset. The event is by reservations only, so it’s advised to secure your spot early.
Let your taste buds unwind as Luca Galli, renowned for his expertise in wine, takes you on a journey of flavors. Sample his handpicked wines, each meticulously chosen to complement the artisanal pizzas paired with salads and herbs grown by community farmers. Not only will diners elevate their understanding of the farm-to-table practice, but also foster a personal connection to healthy food where every ingredient tells a story of sustainability and local goodness.
Beyond the evening’s delight, the fundraising event holds a deeper purpose to build creative solutions for food and material waste. All proceeds from the event will fund a new integrated composting facility, a challenge that is core to the Urban Farmers PH project. Composting facilities decrease food waste, and by building this facility, the surrounding community will have access to organic fertilizer as well as educational opportunities on recycling and urban farming.
Louie Ocampo Gutierrez, Urban Farmers PH Farmer in Chief, shared, “Here’s our next big project. We want to start an integrated composting facility that will collect food waste from restaurants to turn into fertilizer that will be used in urban farms. And then the restaurants get to buy our produce. Circular and zero waste!”
Come together with friends, family, and fellow food enthusiasts to feast on the farm’s ambience and greenery while learning how the pursuit of agriculture is possible in every city and backyard.
Secure your spot now and treat yourself to an evening of taste, sustainability, and community. Tickets are available at PHP 1,999 per head. No walk-ins will be allowed. Message 09988518189 to reserve your slot and contribute to a shared commitment to a greener and more sustainable future. Let’s raise our glasses to good food, good company, and a good cause.
