MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Co-presented by adobo Magazine, a takeoff party for risograph studio Bad Student was held on Saturday, October 15 at The Astbury in Makati. It was a joyful gathering of designers, artists, and their patrons. Supporting the studio for its upcoming exhibit at The Tokyo Art Book Fair, attendees were treated to an afternoon of talks from the artists and an exhibit of risograph prints and zines.
“[This takeoff] is like the actualization of our dream,” said Pau Tiu, one of the founders of Bad Student. They also shared that they have always wanted to throw a party like this one.
Pau and their team will in Japan from October 27 to 30 for the Tokyo Art Book Fair where over 300 exhibitors from around the world for three days of workshops, presentations, film screenings, and live music.
The takeoff also included a sale of limited edition Bad Student merchandise. The funds raised will go towards their trip and further support the studio. An afterparty filled with drinks and good music by the Bad Gays followed.
