SINGAPORE – As the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity finally opens today in Singapore, the first round of shortlists have also been dropped by Asia Pacific’s premier creative celebration. The 15 shortlists revealed are as follows:
As some of the best in Asian creativity gets showcased at Spikes, several Philippine agencies have also raised the flag and represented Filipino ingenuity among the other entrant countries from all over APAC.
Media
Initiative Philippines earns 2 spots in the Media category with its “Always Come Prepared” campaign for RECKITT BENCKISER PHILIPPINES’ Durex; and Havas Media Ortega also secures 2 spots with the “Project Save” initiative for the GOVERNMENT OF VALENZUELA CITY.
PR
Recognizing the importance of PR, and celebrating the creative use of reputation, Spikes Asia 2019 is commending entrants whose strategies have resulted to successfully built trust and well-cultivated relationships with brands.
McCann Worldgroup Philippines secures 1 spot under the PR category for San Miguel Pale Pilsen.
Film
80 finalists were announced for entries that have demonstrated “brilliant brand storytelling intended for a screen”. These are commercially-driven content intended for TV, cinema, online and OOH experiences.
TBWA\ Santiago Mangada Puno enters the Film category shortlist with “THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE RETURN OF THE MARCOSES TO MALACAÑANG OR CARMMA“.
Film Craft
The Film Craft category focuses more on the technical skill in production and filmmaking. This year, 53 finalists have been revealed.
Honoring the technicalities of filmmaking, McCann Worldgroup Philippines also enters the Film Craft category with its “Side by Side” campaign for San Miguel Pale Pilsen.
Digital
The Philippines have a total of 3 finalists under the Digital category, with McCann Worldgroup Philippines earning itself another spot. BBDO Guerrero also enters the shortlist with its “Break Down in Crumbs” and “All Eyes See” campaigns for SPAM.
Digital Craft
Digital Craft Spikes demonstrates exceptional form and function in a digital context; that is, work with flawless design, masterful execution and outstanding user experience created for all digital environments.
BBDO Guerrero also enters the Digital Craft shortlist with its Recipeoke campaign for SPAM.
Outdoor
Outdoor finalists demonstrated ideas that engage in-the-field. That is, work which leverages public spaces to telegraph a message or immerse consumers in a brand experience.
1 slot is also secured by McCann Worldgroup Philippines with the “Jingle Direction” for Loudbox Studios Inc.
Radio & Audio
Radio & Audio finalists demonstrate ideas that are wired for sound; that is, work that communicates a brand message through audio excellence, sonic innovation or superior aural storytelling.
VMLY&R Philippines earns 1 finalist spot in the Radio shortlist with the “Lending Voice to the Silenced” campaign for Powerplant Cinema.
Spikes Asia 2019 winners will be announced during the last day of the festival, September 27, 2019.
