SINGAPORE – As the much-anticipated Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity officially opens today at Suntec, Singapore, more finalists have been revealed for the following categories: Mobile, Media, Film, Film Craft and Direct, as well as 10 other categories. This follows the gruelling days dedicated to judging the over 3,000 entries submitted for 2019.
Mobile
Finalists for the Mobile category demonstrates performance in portable platforms and campaigns that effectively connect with consumers through hand-held devices. A total of 20 finalists have been announced, with Che Proximity Melbourne earning the most spots with 4 entries making the cut with its “Safety Hub” campaign for NRMA and “The Earnbassadors” for Velocity Frequent Flyer. This also puts Australia on the top of the Mobile category with 7 entrants included in the shortlist.

Media
With the rich pools of content readily available online and offline, media proves to be a vital ingredient in getting campaigns across. For the Media category, entries that have made the shortlist are ones that have innovated the implementation of ideas through “game-changing channel strategy”.
This resulted to 64 finalists being announced with the Dentsu Webchutney group in India securing 7 finalists. DENTSU WEBCHUTNEY Bangalore has 3 finalists with its “Hagglebot” campaign for FLIPKART INTERNET PVT LTD; DENTSU WEBCHUTNEY Mumbai has 2 finalists with the “CODE NAME: URI” campaign for Trigger Happy; while DENTSU WEBCHUTNEY Gurgaon has 2 finalists with the “Chai-Fi” initiative for KEO PVT. LTD.
However, it is Australia that takes the lead in the Media category with 31 entrant companies making the shortlist.

Film
80 finalists were announced for entries that have demonstrated “brilliant brand storytelling intended for a screen”. These are commercially-driven content intended for TV, cinema, online and OOH experiences. Dentsu Inc. Tokyo has earned 6 finalist spots for its brand campaigns. This includes its work for A1, Suntory Beverage & Food Limited, NHK Educational, and Mandom.

Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland also has been revealed to have 6 finalists for its work with Champions For Change. Overall, New Zealand entrants have secured 21 slots in the shortlist for Film.

Film Craft
The Film Craft category focuses more on the technical skill in production and filmmaking. This year, 53 finalists have been revealed with 21 entrants coming from Japan. Dentsu Inc. Tokyo takes 4 spots for its work with Nippon Steel, Suntory Beverage & Food Ltd., Panasonic Corporation, and Softbanks Robotics Corp.

Finally, the Direct category celebrates entries that demonstrate the “pursuit and application of customer relationships”. These are campaigns that directly target a specific audience. A total of 57 finalists have been announced with the Dentsu Webchutney group securing 8 spots on the shortlist. DENTSU WEBCHUTNEY Mumbai has 2 with the “CODE NAME: URI” campaign for Trigger Happy; DENTSU WEBCHUTNEY Bangalore also makes the list with 6 finalists with the “Hagglebot” for FLIPKART INTERNET PVT LTD (3), and the “Voice of Hunger” initiative for Swiggy (3).
However, it is Australia as a country that has the most number of finalists with 19 making the cut.
