MANILA, PHILIPPINES – adidas Running has unveiled the adidas Adistar – designed to help runners go beyond what they thought was possible and take on their longest runs yet.
Inspired by the idea of perpetual motion and tested over 4,500 km, the adidas Adistar offers a package of support and protection combined with a consistent rocking motion that creates a rhythmic flow from stride to stride.
INSPIRED BY THE IDEA OF PERPETUAL MOTION
Designed to strike soft and push forward from the first step to the distant last one, the new adidas Adistar features a cushioned collar and tongue combined with an engineered mesh upper – made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic.
The shoe also features the soft and responsive REPETITIOR midsole combined with REPETITIOR+, a firm EVA cradle, made of 15% recycled materials that sit around the heel. Meanwhile, the midsole has a ‘rocker geometry’ thanks to a 6mm drop in stack height from heel to toe.
The adidas Adistar key features:
- Dual Density Midsole: Soft and comfortable REPITITOR foam combines with REPITITOR+ – a firm, second density foam, made of 15% recycled materials – to strike soft whilst still cradling and stabilizing the heel with every stride.
- Support Cage Fit System: A fully integrated internal support cage designed to wrap and hug the foot when tying the laces to ensure lockdown and extra support.
- Forefoot Rocker: Curve shaped angled across the forefront to create a smooth consistent rocking motion that helps you onto the next step. KM after KM.
- Tailored Last: A dual-gender last informed by both male and female insights to adjust to the anatomical differences of the male and female foot.
Simon Lockett, Senior Product Manager, said: “For SS22, we wanted to focus on supporting all runners on their long, slow runs. With this in mind, we created the adidas Adistar, which is designed to give runners the confidence on long runs through the perfect combination of cushioning, protection and support. The brand new midsole – REPETITOR – combined with forefoot rocker geometry creates a smooth motion that consistently helps runners onto the next step. Adistar is also built on a specifically tailored last to adjust for the anatomical differences of the male and female foot – meaning every runner will be supported on their long, slow run.”
The adidas Adistar is available in a blue rush colourway for men and red turbo colourway for women and is now made available for P6,500 online through adidas.com.ph/adistore and the adidas App, in-store, and through the adidas Viber store.
