MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In the long history of art, women often only stand as the subject of paintings. Today, as we continue to celebrate the International Women’s Month, we can also recognize the outstanding women who proactively push the art industry forward.

One of these women is Isa Lorenzo, a licensed doctor with a medical degree from the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital and a masters in Media Studies degree from the New School University. Today, she is the gallery director of Silverlens Galleries, which she founded in 2004, overseeing an active program of artist representation, exhibitions, collaborations, art fairs and commissions in the Philippines and southeast Asia.

A strong advocate of contemporary arts education, she has included regular talks and panel discussions into the gallery programming. She was named as a TOWNS (The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service) awardee in 2016.

In celebration of Women’s Month, Isa will be sharing her story and more in the upcoming adobo Talks “adobo She Creative Breakfast: an intimate conversation over breakfast with women in creative”, the first event under the Adobo SheCreative Network. The session will feature a lineup of outstanding women leaders who have made their mark in their creative industries in an insightful morning session on what it takes to lead their respective fields.

Isa is set to speak at the upcoming event with her keynote session: “Who wants to be a Gallerist?”

Leading our sessions would be McDonald’s Philippine’s Managing Director, Margot Torres “Choose to Lead: Women Leadership.
