Design: Inaugural exhibition of cult branding Magazine B opens at Anomaly Shanghai, entitled The Little Black Reading Room

SHANGHAI, CHINA – Anomaly Shanghai has joined forces with Magazine B to create their first ever exhibition in mainland China, entitled The Little Black Reading Room

Originally from South Korea, Magazine B has built a global reputation among lovers of brands and branding for its deep and considered analysis of brands. An ad-free, monthly publication, it introduces one well-balanced brand from around the world in each issue, sharing not only the untold stories behind the brand, but also the sentiment and culture that surrounds it.

“We are so excited to have the chance to connect with readers from China in different ways. This exhibition presents a great opportunity for people to have retrospective look at Magazine B in the past 10 years.” said Eun Sung Park, Editor-in-Chief at Magazine B.

As people question the role of brands and branding in an increasingly digital and ecommerce led world, it’s never been more a relevant time to reflect on the enduring power of great brands, and understand them better.

“While performance-based marketing is getting ever more important in today’s marketing mix, at Anomaly we still believe in the power of brands to transform business” said Eric Lee, CEO and partner at Anomaly Shanghai, “The brand documentary nature of Magazine B provides a good perspective for both marketeers and consumer to understand the importance of brand-building. We hope this exhibition can stimulate more discussion around it.”

Inspired by a reading room and the design of the magazine, the all black space creates an immersive environment that allows people to enjoy the content. For the duration of the exhibition, Anomaly will also be hosting an event series, bringing together brands, fans and marketing professionals together to discuss the secrets of their success. The participating brands will be announced during the course of the exhibition. In addition, the sessions will be livestreamed and available on Anomaly’s The Unreasonable podcast platforms.

This exhibition and series of ongoing events demonstrate Anomaly’s ongoing commitment to culture. From The Unreasonable, the content platform Anomaly created in 2013, to Anomaly OPEN, its cultural event platform, Anomaly continues to defy definition and lead the industry forward.

The exhibition open to public from June 19th to September 20th 2020
Address: 205 Wulumuqi South Road, Shanghai China
Open 10:30am – 19:30pm, 6 days a week only closing on every Monday.
