TEXAS, USA — Paramount Pictures’ terrifying new horror feature Smile is set to make its world premiere as the opening night film at the Fantastic Fest 2022, running from September 22 to 29 in Austin, Texas.
Held every September in Austin, Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the U.S. specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action, and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world. The festival is dedicated to championing challenging and thought-provoking cinema, celebrating new voices and new stories from around the world, and supporting new filmmakers.
Smile tells the story of Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) who, after witnessing a bizarre and traumatic incident involving a patient, starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.
To mark the announcement, Paramount has unveiled the main poster art for Smile.
The film has been described as the intensely creepy debut feature from Parker Finn that’ll have even the seasoned Fantastic Fest crowd gripping their armrests in genuine fright.
