QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES – The holidays may be over, but viewers are still in for a treat as ABS-CBN TFC extends the chance to catch three 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries: “Fan Girl,” “The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” and “Mang Kepweng: Ang Lihim ng Bandanang Itim,” which can be seen outside the Philippines via iWantTFC, Ktx.ph, and TFC IPTV.

Given the current health risk posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, MMFF was held differently compared to the previous years. Instead of people lining up at the cinemas, they were able to watch the official entries at the comfort of their homes through streaming.

ABS-CBN TFC extends this experience to the movie enthusiasts overseas by letting them enjoy “Fan Girl,” “The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” and “Mang Kepweng: Ang Lihim ng Bandanang Itim” wherever they may be in the world.

“Fan Girl”

The film was the first part of the Main Section of the “33rd Tokyo International Film Festival” being among the Tokyo Premiere 2020 films and has been getting rave reviews from movie critics and enthusiasts before it became among the official entries of the 2020 MMFF.

It was young actress Charlie Dizon who gave life to the character of Jane, a high school fangirl who is obsessed with actor Paulo Avelino, who played as himself in the film. Jane’s obsession with Paulo leads her to follow him home, where she finds herself in an unfamiliar place and meets the other side of her idol who she thought she knows inside and out.

The film comes out different from the usual romantic-comedy movies directed by award-winning director Antoinette Jadaone, which the Hollywood Reporter described as “a film that could be well appreciated on the international festival circuit.”
