SINGAPORE – Activision Publishing Inc. – the Santa Monica- based video games developer and distributor behind the Call of Duty, Destiny, Spyro and Crash franchises –  has consolidated its global media planning and buying account at OMD without a review.  With the move, OMD, which currently is the incumbent for the North American and LATAM regions, adds the EMEA and APAC assignments as well.

Activision has been working with OMD since 2011.  Since that time the agency successfully defended the business in both 2012 and 2017; added LATAM to its remit; and created breakthrough campaigns such as Call of Duty’s WWII launch in which they owned the NFL with a 360 cross-channel approach through linear and digital livestreams, social takeovers, and innovative custom integrations with Bleacher Report. In APAC, the remit will now cover Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Stephen Li, CEO of OMD Asia Pacific, said: “The extension of the remit into APAC without a review is evidence of our network’s proven and consistent approach in helping our clients make better decisions, faster. We look forward to working with the team in APAC on the successful roll-out of their immensely popular game franchises.”

The assignment is effective immediately, positioning OMD to manage media worldwide for the upcoming launch of Black Ops 4, scheduled for release on October 12.
