The AD STARS festival, awards ceremony, and Young Stars competition will all be happening tomorrow, August 24, and will be running up to August 26 at BEXCO, Busan, South Korea.

On its 10th year, AD STARS focuses on the relationships between creativity and technology. With the theme “Creativity +-x÷ Technology”, the festival is built around four principles in the form of mathematical formulae:

Creativity + Technology = Creativity and Technology bring a synergy
Creativity – Technology = Genuine creativity appeals to human nature with analog sensibility
Creativity x Technology = Creativity transforms and evolves according to technology
Creativity ÷ Technology = Technology helps to create a good creative idea for the world

This year, AD STARS also transformed its five-pointed star image into one that “breaks out of a frame and spreads in multi-dimensions with angles”.

While the festival has made a transformation in its 10th year anniversary, its tradition of awarding the best creative work in Asia and around the world remains. With a force of 210 judges screening work across 18 categories, AD STARS has selected 1,802 finalists out of 21,530 entries.

These finalists will again be put under the test by 30 Final stage judges who will finally select the winners and their metals. AD STARS has formed quite a diverse group of experts from Asia and the Pacific and even from Europe and North and South America. The Philippines will field two top creatives — Kat Gomez-Limchoc, Executive Creative Director at Blackpencil Manila / Leo Burnett Group Manila and Aste Gutierrez, President and Chief Creative Officer at BBH.
