PASAY – Last night’s win was another spectacular feat for adobo magazine. It’s campus edition, class a magazine, took home a Quill Award for Excellence in the prestigious 16th Philippine Quill Awards held at Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom.

On its 16th year, Philippine Quill Awards is a celebration of communication excellence in marketing, advertising, and brand communication. It is the local edition of the global Quills, given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

The winning Class A magazine was led and curated by two talented and adroit young creatives, Hannah De Vera and Alberto Cinco.

De Vera, former assistant editor for class a said, “We wanted a youth magazine that would really stand out. Class a magazine was sort of a portal for the younger generation to be educated by industry experts on advertising, branding, communications, journalism, everything that revolves around adobo magazine.”

“We feel very humbled that we won because this was a culmination of both our ideas and passions. We really brainstormed to make sure that class was not just any other magazine. We wanted it to stand out. So the fact that we won a Quill award for it gives us a validation that what we thought and compiled was really worth winning for,” De Vera added.

For adobo magazine CEO and Editor-in-Chief Angel Guerrero, winning a Quill award for adobo magazine’s ‘baby’ is something to be proud of. “You know it’s great that adobo has won the award three times in the Quill for the adobo magazine and class a is like the little child or the baby that targets a younger segment and for it to achieve an award of excellence, of course, it’s something we’re proud of.”

Indeed, winning at Quill Awards is a reflection of the excellent and quality work of adobo magazine, Asia's premier publication for the advertising and brand communication industry. In fact, it has won several Quill awards over the years, including the Top Award, equivalent to a Grand Prix, an unprecedented three times in previous years.

“I think the legacy of adobo magazine in terms of communicating excellence in the way we craft our content and craft the design and art direction of our magazine we take pride and I’m glad that legacy has cascaded down to class a and I’m very proud of the team for winning the award,” Guerrero remarked.
