AKQA promotes Aste Gutierrez to CD

Less than a year after joining AKQA in Shanghai, Asterio Gutierrez has been promoted to Creative Director. Gutierrez began as assistant creative director and writer in December 2013.

On his speedy promotion, Gutierrez said: “Of course, I can’t speak for management. I can only thank them for their trust and make good on their faith. I’ve always seen AKQA as not just an agency or a network, but as a “House”. It’s an honor and privilege to serve the House of AKQA.”

“I have the best job in the world: to work with a team that’s as insanely talented as it is drama-free, that just wants to put their heads down and make our clients rich and famous,” Gutierrez said.

The Manila-born creative has worked as a freelance ACD and writer for Leo Burnett in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, as well as BBDO Guerrero.

He was also ACD and writer at DM9 JaymeSyfu, where he was part of the team behind the multi-awarded Smart TXTBKS campaign. Gutierrez is also among the youngest to win first prize in the Palanca Awards.
