PHILIPPINES – JULY 2011 – Bates 141 Manila CEO Angel Antonio is leaving the agency effective July 31 after just under a year in the post. Promoted from managing director after Peter Sandor returned to Australia, Antonio is the latest in a string of top-level movement within the regional network over the past year.

The Manila office has seen changes of its own of late, with the move to a new office in 2010 and James Bernardo’s appointment as executive creative director in March.

No replacement for Antonio is slated in the near future. However, Bates 141 will appoint a consultant to head up the agency in the interim.

Antonio came to Bates 141 as general manager and chief action officer when the agency absorbed Ogilvy Action in 2008. Prior to this, she had a 15-year stint at JWT, starting out as a creative and working her way up to VP and regional management director for Southeast Asia of Unilever’s Knorr account.

Under Antonio’s leadership, Bates 141 Manila has won several multinational and local clients. The agency was recently named 8th top Philippine creative agency in the Campaign Brief Asia 2010 rankings for its award-winning work, the Tulakabataan "Vote For Kids" campaign that ran during the previous election season.
