Apple’s ‘Misunderstood’ wins Outstanding Commercial at Creative Arts Emmys

GLOBAL – Apple’s ‘Misunderstood’ was named Outstanding Commercial at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, besting four other ads nominated for the title.

The winning ad, created by TBWA\Media Arts Lab and produced by Park Pictures, was launched during the holiday season in 2013.

In the spot, a teenager can’t seem to let go of his iPhone even as his family comes together to celebrate Christmas, though he is more involved in the holiday cheer than everyone thinks.

Other ads nominated for the title include: GE’s ‘Childlike Imagination’ by BBDO, Budweiser’s ‘Hero’s Welcome’ and ‘Puppy Love’ by Anomaly, and Nike’s ‘Possibilities’ by Wieden+Kennedy.

Most recently, ‘Misunderstood’ won a silver in film at the Cannes Lions 2014.
