Expanding upon an earlier project commissioned by Art in Embassies for the American Institute of Taiwan in Taipei, McGinness developed 100 graphic drawings based on different elements of Taiwanese culture and history, from which he created this series of paintings.
This “key” of the individual drawings will be exhibited alongside the paintings, to further translate and decode the elements which make up the works.
These paintings will be presented alongside works by Tomory Dodge, Inka Essenhigh, Beverly Fishman, Markus Linnenbrink, Michael Reafsnyder, and Patrick Wilson at Taipei Dangdai on January 17-19, 2020.
