Art Stage Singapore 2016 announced

SINGAPORE- Returning to the Lion City from 21 to 24 January 2016, Art Stage Singapore presents a vista of the region’s dynamic art scene as part of Singapore Art Week at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Continuing to be an innovative and proactive platform for art promotion, the show hopes to create a better understanding of contemporary Southeast Asian art. Now on its sixth edition, the art fair also hopes to be a facility which encourages the active exchange of ideas. Billing itself as the leading art fair in the region, Art Stage Singapore founder and president Lorenzo Rudolf invites enthusiasts and artists to be a part of this ecosystem to foster a culture of curiosity, and in turn cultivate a stronger art market for the region. Exhibitions and talks will be symbiotic fixtures of the art fair, further enhancing the experience–featuring social scientists, men and women of letters, architects, and urbanists who will discuss the impact urbanization has had on communities, and in art.

Featured artists include Aliansyah Caniago from Indonesia, Norberto Roldan from the Philippines, and Sherman Ong from Singapore. 32 countries and 30 cities will be represented as exhibitors, with a strong showing of Asia-based galleries. Several artworks will be on display on the fairgrounds, among them works by Dadaists such as Marcel Duchamp, Jean Arp and Andre Breton.
