Asia turns up with 15 shortlisted campaigns at the D&AD Impact Awards 2018

Asian agencies claimed 15 shortlist spots at this year’s D&AD Impact Awards, with India leading the pack with six shortlisted campaigns. 

FCBIndia Group gained two shortlist nods for “Sindoor Khela – No Conditions Apply” under the Community & Interaction and Diversity and Inclusivity categories. DDB Mudra Group also has two shortlist places for “Project Free Period” for client Johnson & Johnson under the Equality and Financial Empowerment categories. Meanwhile, Cheil Worldwide India has two shortlisters in “Samsung Technical School – Seems Nagar” for Samsung India Electronics under Diversity & Inclusivity and “The Good Vibes Project” for Sense International India under Health & Wellness.

South Korea followed India with three shortlisted campaigns care of Serviceplan Korea with Serviceplan Germany — all for “Dot Mini. The First Smart Media Device for the Visually Impaired” for Dot Incorporation under the Community & Interaction, Education, and Health & Wellness categories.

From the Philippines, Dentsu Jayme Syfu held two shortlist spots for “Dead Whale” for environmental group Greenpeace Philippines under the Environmental Sustainability and Ocean Health & Wildlife categories. 

Thailand, Japan, China, and Sri Lanka each had one shortlisted campaign. J. Walter Thompson Bangkok’s “Hair Talk” for Unilever gained a shortlist mention under the Diversity & Inclusivity category, while Toshiba Corporation’s “H2One (Hydrogen-based Autonomous Energy Supply System” was shortlisted under Environmental Sustainability. Meanwhile, FF from Shanghai has a shortlisted entry in “Edible Chopsticks” for Eleme under Environmental Sustainability. Rounding out the Asian shortlisers are Leo Burnett Toronto/Sri Lanka for “Petal Paint” for JAT Holdings, also under the Environmental Sustainability category. 

D&AD Impact is a global initiative and awards program that exists to shine a light on the power of creativity as a force for good in the world. The projects, campaigns, companies and organizations represented are pioneering examples of ideas with real social impact. 

Pencil winners and the winner of the $20,000 Impact prize fund will be announced during the awards ceremony on October 2, 2018 in New York.
