Australia dominates first batch of Spikes shortlists

SINGAPORE – Nine shortlists for the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity 2014 have been revealed, with Australian agencies leading the tally.

A total of 107 entries from Australia made the cut across the first nine categories: Design, Digital, Healthcare, Innovation, Media, Mobile, Outdoor, PR, and Print.

Australia was trailed by China, which counts 88 shortlisted entries, and Japan, which counts 75.

Not far behind were Singapore and New Zealand, with 50 works each in the shortlists, and Hong Kong, with 34.

The Philippines counts 19 entries in the shortlists, followed closely by Malaysia with 16, and South Korea with 13.

Meanwhile, Thailand has 11 finalists so far, Sri Lanka has nine, Vietnam has eight, and Pakistan has seven.

The United Kingdom has three shortlisted entries, Indonesia has two, while Bangladesh and Taipei have one each.

The shortlists for Branded Content & Entertainment, Direct, Film, Film Craft, Print & Poster Craft, Promo & Activation, and Radio will be announced on September 25.

The shortlists for Creative Effectiveness and Integrated will be announced on September 26.

The winners will be revealed on the evening of the 26th, at an awarding ceremony at the Grand Theater, Marina Bay Sands.
