BBDO Greater China’s Leong Wai Foong Appointed To International Board of Directors for The One Club for Creativity

SINGAPORE – Leong Wai Foong, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of BBDO Greater China in Shanghai, has been appointed to the International Board of Directors at The One Club for Creativity, the foremost non-profit organization celebrating creative excellence in advertising and design. He will attend this year’s board meeting, as well as The One Show Creative Week in New York from May 7-11.

Leong has been selected as the only representative from China. He will serve a three-year term and provide input and feedback on the club’s two dozen annual education, professional development, inclusion & diversity and gender equality programs, elevating The One Show and ADC Annual Awards in rankings in their regions, connecting the club with advertising and design universities and schools, and recommending outstanding candidates for awards judges, together with One Show Greater China office.

“The Greater China region is flooded with all kinds of award shows, and some of them have turned into meaningless events,” said Leong. “I would like to help elevate The One Show and ADC Annual Awards to industry people here to remind them of the ONE stage they should fight to be on.”

Leong joined BBDO China in 2006 and became Chairman & COO of BBDO Greater China from 2015. Under his leadership, the team has always insisted on the creation of outstanding work and has won numerous creative and effective awards domestic and internationally. Plus, he is passionate about elevating China’s advertising industry to the next level, sharing his valuable experience at industry events and educational institutions.

With this new role, he hopes to inspire industry professionals and potential newcomers to harness the power of creativity to drive the industry in China, and Asia, forward.
