TOKYO – BBDO Japan has promoted Kana Yamada to the position of Head Of Business Development. This appointment will also see her join the management team of the agency.

Yamada joined BBDO three years ago, having previously worked at Grey. Her new responsibilities will see her working closely with Chief Executive, Tony Harris, in extending BBDO Japan’s portfolio of creative assignments and continuing to develop the agency’s profile and reputation.

Since joining she has successfully led the Johnson & Johnson and Starbucks accounts, helping to bring Nicorette into the agency.

Launched in July 2015, BBDO Japan currently looks after clients such as MARS, Bacardi, Visa and New Balance, amongst others. It recently won the Emirates business for Japan, as well.

Tony Harris, Chief Executive of BBDO Japan, said, “Kana embodies all of the characteristics that we value here at BBDO. She has a drive and commitment to making her teams, the agency and, naturally, the work, better that she really is the obvious candidate for us as we continue to grow. She manages to deliver results with apparent effortlessness and, crucially, never without a smile on her face.”
