BBDO wins AOY, Network of the Year at AdStars 2015

BUSAN – BBDO was the toast of the awards night at AdStars 2015, after winning the coveted Network of the Year Award with a total of 56 awards. 

Behind this stellar performance is Colenso BBDO from Auckland, which won Agency of the Year. It secured 27 metals – 4 Gold, 5 Silver, 14 Bronze and 4 Crystal.

Clemenger BBDO, a sister agency based in Wellington, earned distinction by winning one of two Grand Prix of the Year award this year for New Zealand Transport Agency’s “Mistakes” campaign, which shows the shifting responsibilities between perpetrators and victims during accidents.

BBDO Pakistan also brought home a Grand Prix together with BBDO Proximity Thailand, which also won two Grand Prix gongs. BBDO Malaysia secured 1 Gold and 2 Silver awards.

Japan won the most number of awards for Southeast Asia (SEA) in the recently concluded AdStars 2015 at Busan, South Korea, bringing home a total of 62 awards.

Leading the performance are sister agencies under Hakuhodo led won a total of 38 awards. This includes Hakuhodo Inc, Hakuhodo Kettle, Hakuhodo Creative Vox. New Zealand ranked second in SEA terms of number of awards won with 54 metals, but the country secured some of AdStars’ top awards.

AdStars had a stellar response this year, receiving a total of 17,698 entries from 67 countries, up by around 40% from 2014 to mark its largest turnout to date. 

Among 1,717 entries in the final round, 361 entries earned honors including 13 Grand Prix recipients. There were 47 Gold winners, 113 Silver winners, 131 Bronze winners and 57 Crystal winners.
