ASIA-PACIFIC – TOKYO, JAPAN, AUGUST 1, 2011 – beacon communications k.k. has announced the reorganization of its management team in order to further strengthen three areas of its operations, covering its creative, planning, digital, retail and production.
To embody beacon’s key strength of being “the company which possesses the best of both east and west”, as well as to further strengthen creative content, beacon has decided to adopt a system of having one Japanese and one foreign director to lead the Creative Department .

Jon King
Jon King has been promoted to Executive Creative Director where his task will be to ignite the creative department and keep pushing beacon’s creative quality to be the best bar none. He will co-lead the creative department alongside Masahiko Yasuda (currently ECD).
King started his career in Seattle, then joined the Leo Burnett network in 2002, and worked in Chicago, Rome and now in Tokyo for the past 6 years. During his career he has worked on numerous multi-national accounts such as Starbucks, Microsoft, Philip Morris, Nokia, Allstate, P&G and Lenovo.

Antony Cundy
Antony Cundy, has been promoted to Executive Business and Strategy Director, and will consolidate and supervise the Behavioral Strategy group while concurrently leading the client services for the agency. Cundy joined beacon in August 2010 as Executive Planning Director. A specialist in communication solutions and strategy, he has handled many major clients such as McDonald’s, Unilever, Philips, Volkswagen, Michelin, and Johnson & Johnson.

Tetsu Ishii has been promoted from Executive Account Director to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Aiming to streamline and improve the overall quality of production and technology as well as realizing the “One Team”. Ishii will oversee the operations team, including the Production Division and Marketing Services Division. At the same time, he will work closely with other management team members in charge of creative, strategy, and client services, making sure that the support of the management team functions throughout for all brands.
Ishii joined Leo Burnett Kyodo K.K., a predecessor of beacon in 1998. Since then he has worked on global clients such as Philip Morris and P&G, as well as major listed companies such as Sony and AGC Asahi Glass. He was appointed Executive Account Director in 2008, and has been involved in various projects within mass marketing, as well as projects involving brand communication according to target attributes such as CI, direct marketing, and retail communication.
