BANGKOK, THAILAND – GroupM (Thailand), WPP’s world-leading media investment group, partners with Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, to help brands accelerate their e-commerce growth in the new normal. For the first time in Thailand, this partnership will allow GroupM and its agencies namely Mindshare, MediaCom, Wavemaker, and m/Six, to get exclusivity to access and manage Shopee Affiliate Marketing Solutions for their brand clients, working with over 2,000 media partners. The partnership also allows brands and marketers to access the holistic suite of Shopee Marketing Solutions, tools and insightful knowledge that enable them to better optimise their media and advertising strategies. This reflects a shared vision and commitment by Shopee and GroupM to support brands in unlocking the huge potential of e-commerce, and deliver better value to consumers.
In addition to the affiliate programme, brands under GroupM’s supervision will be able to elevate their communications strategies through Shopee Ads. Shopee Ads will enable brands to effectively target their audience and strengthen their search marketing strategies on Shopee, which in turn help improve their campaign marketing performance.
To further help brands boost their e-commerce capabilities, Shopee and GroupM will also work together to equip brands and their employees with best practices and insightful knowledge. Through in-depth trainings by Shopee’s e-commerce experts on Store Management and Product Trainings, GroupM will be able to effectively help brands increase sales and stay ahead of the trends.

In 2019, e-commerce industry in Thailand was predicted to reach 163,300 million Baht. However, driven by the COVID-19 pandemic that causes more people to fulfill their everyday needs online, it is expected that the e-commerce industry in Thailand will grow significantly at 35% or have the market value of 220,000 million Baht in 2020. According to App Annie, both in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, Shopee ranks number one in the Shopping category by average monthly active users, and total time spent in app on Android, in the second quarter of 2020.
