PARIS, FRANCE – The craft and artistry of evocative new photography is celebrated today with BIRTH IMAGE. Created by leading film production company BIRTH, the department has a roster of 14 photographers on its books including Peter Funch, Dan Beleiu, Kamila K Stanley and Fethi Sahraoui, as well as award-winning Christopher Anderson in partnership with Supervision.

REDEFINING COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

BIRTH IMAGE sets out to redefine the perception of commercial photography agencies. Digital or analogue, monochromatic or highly processed, photography captures an image or idea with the power to inform, inspire – and incite. With this in mind, the department focus is first and foremost on photography as a visual art form, the product of the skill and imagination of talented artists with unique visions.

BIRTH IMAGE photographers traverse all areas of photography, from reportage to editorial, from advertising campaigns to celebrity portraits. BIRTH IMAGE AT RENCONTRES D’ARLES

The department’s craft-first position will be clear for all to see at the upcoming Rencontres d’Arles international photography festival in Provence. BIRTH IMAGE is sponsoring an exciting open-air exhibition curated by Julie Gonssard for Galerie Incognito on 5 – 9 July during the festival’s opening week. Three days will be marked by live performances of poetry from Karen Ann and Irene Jacobs (5 July), dance (6 July) and music from DJ Cam (7 July).
