Dunkin Donuts and J. Romero’s “Augmented Reality” campaign lets you take Derek Ramsey home

MANILA – September 30, 2013 – Dunkin Donuts patrons are in for a sweet treat–and it’s not the donuts! The famous donut brand’s new campaign by J. Romero & Associates features a special box for dozen donut purchases that lets buyers enjoy the company of heartthrob Derek Ramsey through augmented reality technology.

Augmented reality software animates still images that users aim their cameras at. 

In this case, those who would like a dose of Derek to accompany their donut binge can buy their dozen, download the Zappar app from the Google Play Store or App Store, launch the app, and point their cameras at the Derek Ramsey image on the donut box. What happens after is something that Dunkin Donuts would rather keep a sweet surprise.

The donut box will be accompanied by a Twitter giveaway, where tweeters can win prizes by correctly answering questions tweeted by @DunkinDonutsPH.
