CANNES – The winners for the Young Lions Competition has been announced at the 65th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

For the Young Lions Print Competition, Eduardo Balestra and Henry Westcott from Grabar &, Germany wins the first place while Mourad Bouaziz and Edouard-Jean of McCann Canada takes second. Third place goes to Ryan Wolters, a freelancer, and Will Van Der Merwe of Vice Media Benelux, Netherlands.

During the Young Lions Print competition, participants were given only 24 hours to exhibit their creative skills through a unique and appealing print ad to a charity’s brief. In addition to being catchy and distinct, the print ad must also motivate and drive action.

Young Lions PR Competition sees Xiaoyu Guan and Shengying Yan of BBDO China in the first place. Jean Paoli and Raphaële Brachet of Weber France wins the second. During the competition, participants were challenged to create an innovative PR campaign in response to a client brief. More than being creative, the PR strategy must also connect with the organization’s brand values and how it engages with its audience. 

Meanwhile, the team of Marc Hoes of DDB Tribal Amsterdam and Lennart Eshuis of OMD Netherlands ranks first in the Young Lions Media Competition, followed by Hanna Tsishkevich and Aliaksei Ventskevich of TDI group Belarus. Claudio Andres Ureta Fuentealba and Jorge Ulises Soberanes Lopez of Element Mexico ranks third. The Young Lions Media Competition participants were tasked to demonstrate their strategic thinking and innovative approaches by solving a marketing challenge and driving effective communication strategies.

For the Young Lions Marketer Competition, Diogo Vasques of Caixa Economia Montepio Geral Portugal, the duo of Anupama Sharma & Raisa Chakravarty of ITC India, and pair Jill Elizabeth Harmon and Nathan Kwok of Commonwealth Bank Australia win first, second, and third places, respectively. The competition asked the young creatives to come up with a concise, direct, and effective brief on a product or service. The output was presented to the jury who act as an agency.

Camilo Augusto Jiménez of Mullenlowe SSp3 & Giovanni Rozo of Colombia nails the first place in the Young Lions Design Competition while Patrícia Cordeiro of Big Fish and Cláudio Soares of JWT Lisboa Portugal, and the pair of Petr Farbey and Breno Ribeiro Nascimento of Havas Digital Russia, bag second and third places, respectively. The Young Lions Design Competition challenged the teams to deliver a brand identity in response to a brief set by a charity or NGO.
